One Health in poland maymester- 4 credits

This three-week program is intended for undergraduate students interested in human and veterinary medicine who want to expand their knowledge by the topic of one health.

The program will be held on the campus of University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn, Poland. UWM in Olsztyn is the biggest public university in north-eastern Poland. UWM is the only university in Poland with the campus (Kortowo) surrounded by lakes and beautiful nature.

Poland is home to one of the largest wild European bison (an endangered species) herds, which offers a glimpse into livestock-wildlife health issues and challenges for wild herd health given degradation and loss of habitat and climate change. This offers a unique practical experience and exposure to how issues are approached and priorities in another culture.
